BRAND SPOTLIGHT | A BEAUTIFUL LIFE PERFUMES

I first saw A Beautiful Life's perfumes on the Urban Outfitters website, and was entranced by the unicorn clad bottle that claimed to smell of the 90s. I looked their own website up and found out they actually had a lot of perfumes, all of which sounded very interesting and unusual. As I do love trying new perfumes (one of my favourite things to do, sad I know!), I had to try their perfume sampler set.

FATHERS DAY AT LUSH - LAST MINUTE GIFT IDEAS

Now, I love Lush (like my-dream-job-would-be-to-work-there kinda love) but what has always baffled me is the fact they don’t bring out a specific fathers day range. Their recent newsletter linked to you a new Dad's Garden fragrance gift set and their regular shaving products - but not a new limited edition range, like they do for other seasonal events. Dads need some Lush in their lives too!

YOU BEAUTY DISCOVERY BOX, JUNE

After seeing a few bloggers (including one of my faves We Were Raised By Wolves) talking about the You Beauty Box, I thought I would check it out for myself – and was surprised that a lot of the brands they featured were actually cruelty free! Beauty subscription boxes that feature brands not tested on animals are hard to come by in the UK at the moment, so I was delighted to find out about this cheap and cheerful box.

5 THINGS | NETFLIX PICKS

In honour of the new season of Orange is the New Black – which I am desperately trying not to binge watch this weekend – here are a few of my favourite shows on Netflix, for when you inevitably do binge watch the entire series and need something else to fill the void.

CROWN & GLORY GLITTERATI BOX, JUNE

I love surprises, partly because of the anticipation, and partly because it doesn't involve decision making - both very appealing qualities to me. I've been getting this box for six months now, and can say with certainty that it is worth it - as there is something for everyone. There is always something in each box that I instantly love, something that I actually wear, something that I don't like at first glance and then warm to at a later date and end up loving, and something that I just cannot see myself using. I am a tricky customer, and incredibly picky, so the fact that I don't just hate everything is a shining recommendation. 

WISHLIST | 10 CRUELTY FREE FRAGRANCES

My current all-time favourite summer perfume is Lust, by Lush. Its described as a "powerful, unadulterated and sexy jasmine perfume" and contains notes of jasmine, ylang ylang, rose, vanilla and sandalwood. The gorgeous intensely sweet and floral fragrance is perfect for hot, humid days. I like to layer it with a bit of solid Vanillary (which has notes of vanilla, tonka and jasmine) too, for some added depth, and could literally sniff myself all day while wearing this.
